The Journalism Club:
Tsuboi Ryoutarou is Klein Apprentice:
The leader of the group and the only Level 4, close-quarters specialist with his wooden sword. Special Skill: «Kendo Art», a Limited Activation Skill that consumes Special Gauge to pull off multi-hit combos. Not only that, to a limited extent, it can even predict the trajectory of an oncoming strike, leaving Apprentice to respond appropriately.
His Enhanced Armament (EA) is «Wooden Sword», a simple yet powerful melee weapon whose offensive potential increases with more hits in a single sword combo. Ryoutarou has invested all three of his Level Up Bonuses into his weapon, allowing him be supported by the system up to six consecutive hits.

Shokuhou Nozomi is Luka Extinguisher:
Ryoutarou's close friend, his «Child», and a Level 3, mid-range fighter with the sharpest tongue 'round the area. Her Special Skill is «Put-Out», a powerful jet of CO2 capable of suffocating any avatar caught in its lingering smoke. Her slaps, speed, and strength are something of a legend among the Tokyo Burst Linkers, though the same can't be said for her defense.
Instead of an EA, Nozomi possesses twin nozzle-like attachments on the underside of her wrists. One of her Level Up Bonuses was spent on «Brass Knuckledusters», an attachment to her wrists that do as their namesake says. Her LEvel 3 Bonus increased the range and power of Put-Out.
-
Ichijo Tatesuke is Green Guardian:
The next strongest Level 3 and the tanker of the team. Anything and everything will never make it past his shield, and once he accumulates enough potential damage, he can release it in a omni-directional electric shock (Amperage), making you think twice about a sneak attack. Slow as he might be, few Burst Linkers have fought and won, due to his tactic of winning by time-outs.
The massive «Tower Shield» he wields possessed no known ability until he spent his third Level Up bonus on it, revealing its hidden ability «Recoil Charge»: the more damage the shield takes, the greater damage dealt when Tatesuke casts Amperage...within a limit.

Gekkagawa Mikseki is Spring Renascentia:
The youngest of the four, and most junior in the group at Level 2, she's the healer for the team and Accel World's most famous player. Her Limited Activation ability «Paramedical» is a lifesaver - literally - to her teammates, sacrificing her Special Gauge for their HP recovery in a ratio of 4:1. She is not helpless, however; those hands which possess the nicknamed 'Healing Touch', 'Kiss Of Life', and other monikers can also deliver a paralysing electric shock. Her opponents have been known to complain of real chest pains after the battle.
Her sole Level Up Bonus, naturally, was used to improve her healing ability, reducing the ration of Health recovered to 3:1. Paramedical still cannot heal status effects, though that may change...
Attached to the Journalism Club are:
Kitamura Misawa is Cul Artillery:
A Level 1 newbie, she has already discovered her main armament: the «Artillery Piece». Capable of firing three indirect, far-ranging shots, combined with her pistol, she has some of the strongest long-range firepower that a Level 1 possesses. However, she is far, far weaker and slower than even Spring Renascentia.
Her Enhanced Armament, interestingly, is a Type 11 37mm Infantry Support Gun weighing 94kg. Firing armour-piercing rounds, one of these was enough to break Turquoise Duro's armour, leg, and everything else in between. Since it's too heavy for herself to carry, Misawa has to carefully choose where to emplace her gun to cover her opponents in its arc of fire.
Level 1 -> Level 2 -> Level 3 -> Level 4. A further two upgrades merely add more conventional weapons to Artillery Piece, until the Level 7 upgrade that converts it into a proper self-propelled howitzer - only that in true Accel World style, you get the artillery version of Immobile Fortress.
-
Kihara Gunsou is Turquoise Duro:
The newest Level 1 of all, a self-described 'loyal brother,' and probably the weakest in the group. The only thing he has going for him is the Limited Activation Ability «Reserve Armour», a skill that Ryoutarou hires him for to protect Spring Renascentia. When all the others seem to be getting in tune with their in-game avatar, he's the only one who seems unable to identify with this avatar born from the scars of his heart; or at least, that's what he thinks...
...«Saint's Fist» showed itself to be his true ability, unveiling itself at the peak of his adversity. Consuming no Special Gauge, it allows Gunsou to disengage his armour plating and move them around freely around his avatar to any particular place required. Whether to increase the weight of a blow, or support himself to stand his ground, Saint's Fist transformed Turquoise Duro into a mid-ranged fighter capable of simultaneously attacking and defending.
